So the metro hippie’s beloved Tesla Roadster might be under siege already… A bigger, badder, dare I say sexier plug-in hybrid is on the prowl. With a gorgeous and aggressive design, the Fisker Karma sedan is unlike anything else ever created on American soil.
Jam packed with eco-features, the Fisker is another homegrown automotive beacon set to change the industry (keep ‘em coming people!). It is a plug-in hybrid, getting 50 miles before sipping any fuel (fact: 60% of Americans drive 50 miles or less a day). It has a large lithium battery running through the car, with an electric motor in the rear. Without the need for a large gas engine, the seats were then lowered, resulting in a sedan that’s the height of a Porsche 911! The Karma also has the option of solar on the roof which will automatically run on a hot summer day to cool the car, or it will plug energy directly into the battery…. yeah woo!

This lustful 4-door also performs like a champ… It’s 0-60 time is set at 5.8 seconds and she’ll max out at 125 mph. This combined with an expected 100 mpg rating and 620 miles on a single tank should more than scare its competition. The BMW 7 series, Mercedes S class and Lexus LS series are the prey, for the Fisker is set to sell 15,000 vehicles a year, starting 4th quarter ’09, at $80-100,000 dollars! Same price point, sexier, equal performance, 100 mpg, eco-friendly, homegrown…. hmmm, tough call!

I’m sold… the bar has been risen. Fisker Karma… you will be mine. Oh yes, you will be mine!
