If you’re not a huge fan of being bombarded by brands and advertisements wherever you go, there’s a shoe for you.  It’s called the Blackspot and it’s produced by Adbusters, a global network of artists, activists, and writers aimed at shifting our ties to big business.  The Blackspot comes in two styles… the Sneaker and the Unswoosher.  The Sneaker, pictured below, looks similar to an old school Chuck Taylor.  It comes in black or red and features a 100% organic hemp upper and hand drawn logo (the anti-logo) and ‘sweet spot’.


The Sneaker is pretty cool I guess, but the Unswoosher rules all… This salty dog packs a mean punch with a 100% recycled tire sole.

So what’s the big deal with this Adbuster’s campaign anyway?… I’m not a huge activist or anti-corporation nut, but I do see their point.  Our experience on this planet has become a never ending slideshow of advertisements…. This is crazy, but the average American can name 1,000 commercial brands and only 10 plants!  Anyone else think this balance is a bit off?

Anyway, for those who like to ‘walk the walk’… these boots are made for walkin’, and that’s just what they’ll do.
